We elected Kevin Rudd as Prime Minister, and yet she wasn't happy being second in charge, so she overthrew him. We didn't elect her in 2010, she just gave a better blow job than Tony Abbott, either that or the Independants didn't want Tony Abbots lips quite that close to them.
Either way, I never voted her in, I never asked for her to be there. In 2010 there was the highest number of donkey votes ever recorded. These are the votes where people just write 1,2,3,4 down the ballot page, and so therefore they are discarded. Doesn't that say something about the Prime Minister?
She told the Australian public that she would never bring in a carbon tax, and what was the very first thing on her agenda? I care about the environment, and I believe we need to care for it too, but I don't think that the carbon tax is necessarilly the right way to go. But that is a blog for another day. She is refusing to budge on gay marriage, so how can one be so forward thinking and with the times to bring in a carbon tax, yet so old fashioned that she can't allow gay people to marry?
Now I have heard on the news that Kevin Rudd is planning to challenge for his job as Prime Minister to be reinstated. My opinion is he can't stuff it up any worse than it's already stuffed! He has asked that the public write or ring their local Labor MP to ask them to vote for Kevin Rudd.
However, I also heard an alarming fact about this challenge. If Kevin Rudd is to take over as Prime Minister, Julia Gillard will just simply be put to the back bench, (back in the kennel), however, if she choses to jump ship, and go and join the Liberals, that then throws the balance of power, and will make Tony Abbot the Prime Minister, because Liberal will have the balance of power.
So this makes me wonder, should we be asking for Kevin Rudd to come back, or should we be demanding a new election? After all the Government is meant to work for the people, not be self serving. So shouldn't that allow the people have the deciding factor of who we want for our Prime Minister?
I tell you something, I can see why there may in the not to distant future be three parties running for the position of Prime Minister, because I really think people are sick to death of these high school antics that Labor and Liberal play. I can see why the Greens vote is on the up and up. Although I don't necessarilly agree with alot of their policies either. Maybe I should just run for Prime Minister.... I'd probably be assassinated!!
I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on this whole saga.
Love you all

Sam I HATE politics. Hate the way they act and the untruths they tell regularly. I no longer believe a word I hear from them. I have loved my girls seeing a woman running the country - but I can' abide Julia's double edged tongue. Kevin seems better - but who really knows. Tony - is he any different. I think I'd vote for you Sam. At least I know you and know you'd tell the truth :)
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with you Caz.... all except that I should run for Prime Minister LOL... that would be horrifying!! I just don't think I could stand it!!
